ms., Luo Mingyao 羅明堯 (Daxishanji 大西山畸, Duoma shi 多瑪氏), Gezhi aolüe 格致奧略 (composed in 1820: f. 43a), 1+84 ff. (8/24); copied by Andrew (安德肋, f.84b); at the end 1 fnc with the text; 時為大清嘉慶貳拾伍年仲秋月鄉鄰居士珍藏, cf. title-page, verso: 由權古鄉鄰張氏藏. Gezhi aolüe first explains some basic features of man (soul, senses) and of the universe (the earth, the four hells, the four elements, the heavens, angels) and its creation, and then gives its history up to the time of the preaching by the Apostles.
Note 70: Duoma=Thomas. The author is a Western Catholic missionary (given the use of the terms 'Da Xi 大西' and 'Tianzhu 天主') of whom nothing further is known; cf. Pfister, 984.
