|Nongzheng quanshu 農政全書 : [60卷] / Xu Guangqi 徐光啓著.|
Colophon title also in Wade-Giles: Nung Cheng Ts'üan Shu.
"Nongzheng quanshu 農政全書 (Comprehensive treatise on agricultural administration) (1639). Important because it summed up the state of the art; it was highly popular in Tokugawa Japan. Xu was friendly with some of the Jesuit scholars and has included excerpts from European works on hydraulics. See Science and Civilisation in China, v. 6, pt. 2, 64-70 (incl. trans. of table of contents)." Cf. Wilkinson, Chinese History, a Manual, p. 630.
